Support the Lily B. Clayton Walkathon

2012-September

The Lily B. Clayton Walkathon is coming!

On Friday, October 5th, Lily B. Clayton school children, parents, and faculty will hold their 4th annual Walkathon by walking - and singing - through the Berkeley neighborhood. Line-ups begin at 8:15am, so that we’ll be ready to start the walk by 8:30am. The walk will start from the school, go down Pembroke to Warner to Ward Parkway and then loop back over to Warner and head back to sweet Lily B. Please come out and CHEER! for the children as they get some exercise and raise money for the school. The PTA chose the Walkathon as an alternative to a “gift wrap” fundraiser (in which we only keep a portion of the money). This way, the PTA has decided to make money while getting some exercise!

Why walk?

  • Eliminate gift wrap fatigue felt by many parents, neighbors, and family
  • Promote the school by walking and singing through the streets
  • Environmentally, there is much less waste produced
  • Keep 100% of funds raised with the school. YEAH!
  • To hear the Paschal Drumline energize the walk. Weehooo!
  • Kids get some exercise! Love it!

Here’s the map of where the kids will be walking. Please try to plan around the walk in case you need to pull out of your driveway during this time. We want to keep the kids safe and not cause any delays. Information about the walk will be kept up to date on the web site: www.lilybclayton.org Please follow the Walkathon link and make a donation to support the school.
