1138 Clara St - published 1986, original date unknown186 viewsConstructed in 1919, the design of this two-story stucco-clad residence was inspired by the Prairie Style houses of Frank Lloyd Wright, which incorporated shallow-pitched hip roofs with wide overhangs. Reputedly, it was built by its first owner, Ellis H. Boyd, part owner of a motor company and oil well manufacturing company in the 1920's. With further documentation, the house may be eligible for the National Register.

2300 Edwin St., circa 1921163 viewsThe current owner of this home at 2300 Edwin St. is Bill Martin, who purchased the house in 1969 from the Shotts family, the original owners. E.A. Shotts was president of Shotts Electric Co. and his wife was Hannah. The rear tenant at the time was Preston Jones. Bill says the house was built in 1921 and he has the abstract. Note the house behind 2300 Edwin. Part of the foundation of that house still stands in the empty lot at the southwest corner of Forest Park Boulevard and Mistletoe Avenue.
